Why aren't people cheering for me?

This is how Justin dressed to go to Hannaford yesterday:

And it resulted in some heartbreaking moments for mom and son.

He wanted to dress like a real fireman so people would cheer for me. He was so excited. Of course, he got lots of smiles, but no cheering. And he asked way too many times "why is no one cheering for me?" It was so sad.

Finally, on the way home we explained that we don't cheer when we see the fireman shopping either. We just smile and continue to shop. We only cheer for them when they are in the parades. That helped his heart a little. But it was all just so sad for my little man.

So next time you see a little fireman at the supermarket, make his day by making a fuss over him!
