Mornings....
At the beginning of the summer, we FINALLY convinced Sarah to stop calling for us in the morning when she woke up. She will now finally get up and leave her room. But she still won't go past her door if Justin is not up. If his door is closed, she will go back into her room and wait for him. She has never come into us. So weird. But that was a HUGE step! If she hears that he is up, she will still call for him though.
Swimming....
For a little girl that wouldn't even go into the pool until last year, Sarah has now come a LONG way! We have spent a ton of time in the pool this year. It has been a HOT summer. We convinced her to get her face wet. We convinced her to jump in! That was HUGE! She loved it. We even convinced her to jump off the diving board (with a life jacket, of course.) (She actually was easier to get in than Justin. Justin wouldn't really do it and eventually Grampy just pushed him off the board. He loved it, of course!) Then the swim lessons started. She started in level 1, Justin in level 2. After 8 lessons, she just moved up to level 2 today with Justin. She is so excited. We had practiced on Thursday having her jump into Grammy's pool while holding onto the boogie board so she was prepped for that and did great. I was glad we practiced though. The first 2 times we did it she let go of the board and went right under. So it helped that she learned how to it and was ready for it today. She did great! Then today we went swimming at Grammy's all day with teh Washocks and she spent the day in the shallow end with no swimmies on. She did great trying to swim all day. (But boy did she get tired by evening!)
Bees....
My strange boy today told Andrea not to worry about the bees b/c "they won't bother you if you ignore them." really? When did his feelings change?
Teeth.....
Justin had 2 teeth pulled on June 30th. He wasn't very happy about it when he figured out what was happening. He had medicine that made him awake but forget it all.
Oh my....
about 20 minutes after he took it, he slowly lifted his arm, looking at it "woah, this is weird." The nurse picked up the phone right away "I think he's ready." lol
He was so out of it but during the procedure he cried and cried. It was so sad.
When we got home, he was still just so out of it. He couldn't hold his head up for a while. His lip was so swollen and he couldn't stand how funny it felt. It was all so weird.

Justin lost another tooth!
And again, I helped it come out.
This time it came out when I was brushing his teeth right before school. He had to go to school with tissues in his mouth. By the time we got there, the bleeding was finally slowing down. Now he's down to one real loose tooth. And he's so excited that he can eat on one side of his mouth now without pain!!!

Another Lost Tooth!
And what a story!
It was bedtime and Justin had just finished going potty. I went into the bathroom and was taking off his shirt. All of a sudden he started SCREAMING (meanwhile Sarah was already sleeping- yikes!) "Where's my tooth! You pulled out my tooth!" I had no clue what he was even talking about, but sure enough there was tons of blood coming out of his mouth. I looked everywhere for the tooth, couldn't find. Tried shaking out his shirt, looking in the potty. Nothing. Crud. Justin's still screaming and he's freaking b/c of all the bloood. Mick comes in and blames me for pulling out his tooth since Justin said that. I DID NOT PULL OUT HIS TOOTH! It had been hanging on crooked for weeks on and must have gotten cuaght on his shirt and out it came! Well, I went on duty of stopping the blood while Mick went and found the tooth on the floor.
Not the way we thought it would go down, but it is out. That makes Tooth #4. And tooth #5 is even looser than this one was. But it is wedged in so it's staying put longer. This one had been all on it's own. Actually for the past 3 weeks or so I would just watch this tooth every time he talked to me and I would giggle. I felt bad, but I couldn't help it. It was so funny, hanging off to the side.
Before:

And After:
(It was bedtime so I wrote the note instead of keeping him up later. lol)

Oh, and he was SO upset that he couldn't run in and tell Sarah but she was already asleep. But he will want to wake her early. Yikes.
Of course, now I LOVE listening to him talk with his new lisp. SO CUTE!!!! I definitely need to take some video of it.

Sarie tales
How exactly should I be spelling Sarie anyway? Hmmm...
My Boo to the Bits Boo is such a sweetie pie. She's so loving and so huggy. I love it.
But she's also got her fair share of strangeness.
Oh, my Sarie. The past month she screams if you leave her alone in the hallway when she's taking of her shoes. She's scared. Have you seen our back hallway? It's what? Maybe 6 feet long. wth?
My Sarie loves her dollies. I can't remember when I gave her Crishie, but I knew she loved her so much that I wanted to get her another Cabbage Patch kid baby. I got her one and had Grammy give it to her for her bday. Oh my....she loves her! She named her Kiely, since that was the name it came with. Kiely is her new favorite. But she loves them all and plays with them all.
She is able to use her front teeth more finally. I am still gonna watch out for the really hard foods, but I am letting her have most things now. Thank goodness. The teeth aren't fully tight, but they aren't too bad. Finally. She does still keep injuring them though, so I'd actually be surprised if she manages not to loosen them again. The poor kid.
She does like her school. That makes me so happy. Last week was her Mother's Day tea Party for school. It was at the firehouse. I dressed her in her fanciest dress - her Bitty Baby Easter Dress. She looked so stinkin' beautiful. All the kids were lined up and sang to us again. My heart just swells. I love this stuff!
Yesterday Ms Robin told me "She was quite the chatty Cathy today." Looks like my Ms Sarah has finally come out of her shell a little. Yeah! Oh, and, yes, it wasn't bad chatter. She just had a lot to say. She was perfectly behaved though. That makes a mommy so happy! And I am so glad she's finally talking at school.
Today we had Lexi over for a playdate. Wow. Sarah didn't stop talking. It was so funny. Sarah told her what they were going to do the whole time and Lexi followed. A complete role reveral for both of them when they are home. Hysterical.

Everyone please stop beating up my baby!
Enough already!
Sarah has been victimized way too much lately.
In Dec, the couch pushed her off of it and the floor hit her. We ended up in the ER getting her head glued.
Friday the floor moved and made her fall and a bowl beat up her face. Really? Is this necessary?
Then Sunday the Sit N Spin threw her off of it as she was innocently trying to stand on the top level of it. Darn sit n spin. After it threw her off, she was beat up by the floor. On the back of her head. The result? She somehow cut her upper lip very badly and loosened her left upper tooth. WTH? Darn Sit N Spin.
She cried and cried and cried. And it bleed and bleed and bleed. The lip slowed down a little but he tooth wouldn't stop bleeding. It bleed for over an hour. It was very loose and when I tried to touch it, it would bleed tons more. Yuck! She went to bed extra early and insisted on sucking on a wet washcloth when she went to bed. We went to the dentist today. There is a possiblity that the root is affected. We need to go back in a month. Best case scenerio: the tooth tightens back up. Worse case: the tooth gets infected and they have to pull it.
So, for now: she has a very bad upper lip that is swollen and will take quite a while to heal. She has a loose tooth that we need to be very careful with. She is on soft foods only for at least 2 weeks. And we have to avoid spicy, hot, salty and acidic foods for a while. Poor thing. She'll survive, but I will go crazy. She was happy today though b/c she got unlimited popsicles and she got noodles and soft pretzels. What a treat!
I looked inside her mouth. The gums inback of the tooth and on top on the tooth are so bruised. It is just amazing to see it.
My poor girly.
