Easter highlights

My favorite moment this year was at church. Before church started we started hearing a chirping noise. Mick and I looked around, confused, thinking was there really a bird in the church. Then I look at Sarah. She has brought her new bird stuffed animal, unbeknownst to us, and was pushing the belly and making it chirp. I nearly lost it. Way too funny. I had no idea she had brought it. She had stuck it in her doll carrier to be Norma's dolly.

The day started with Justin waking us up at 6:30. I told him he had to wait until 7 to get Sarah. At 7:01, I heard Sarah yelling for him "Justin, we need to check to see what the Easter Bunny left us!" Oh, and why was she yelling for Justin? Because she still NEVER leaves her room. Not EVER! She calls us and waits for someone to get her. Amazing. She is a rare bird.

Justin was so happy to be at church. He truly enjoyed it.

Justin's favorite gifts were his Playdoh Dr Drill N Fill, from Grammy's and his Playmobile Ambulence from the Easter Bunny.

Sarah loved her Playdoh Princess set from Grammy and her My Little Pony and Playmobile girl sets from the Easter Bunny.

Justin loved eating ham and corn on the cob. He was sad about the mashed potatoes. He didn't like them b/c Grammy added parsley. Oh well...

Sarah wouldn't eat anything. I knew that so we made the corn on the cob just for her like I do for every big dinner. I served it to her and at the last second remembered that she couldn't eat it b/c of her teeth. Crud! Big ole' crud! Easy to solve, right? Cut it off and let her eat the kernels, right? Nope! Not a chance! I cut it off and she FREAKED! Absolutely was ready to lose her mind. She won't even try it that way. WTH? The strangest thing is - she will eat frozen corn kernels. Strange little birdy!

And, finally, I can't forget to mention the dress. Yup. THE Easter Dress. The one from 2008. The American Girl Doll one that I bought before she was born. The one that has the matching Bitty Baby dress. The dress I loved. Also known as the dress that made her lose her mind last year when I tried to get her to wear it. Well, she finally wore it! And she looked adorable!! Ahhhh....a great Mommy triump for me.

Some things I learned this Easter:
- Sarah can kick ass at an Egg Hunt. Dang. She did awesome last night and today!
- Doctor Drill N Fill has stood the test of time. Justin LOVED it!
- Sarah loves to share with Justin. (He is good about it too.) She kept finding eggs this morning and calling Justin over to share them.
