Justin's progress

My little man has come a long way lately.

We stopped his naps. This is difficult as he gets so whiney and tired. But he wasn't going to sleep until 10:30 if he napped. Now he doesn't do a nap and gets to bed by 8:15ish. Much better for everyone. Hopefully he'll get less whiney in time.

We started a reward chart and it's working. Justin has never been one that sees a reward and wants it. But I finally decided on something that seems to be working. He gets a sticker for : brushing his teeth, pooping on the potty, trying his dinner, and staying in bed without crying. We added the brush the teeth one so that we knew he'd get some stickers. After 10 stickers, he gets to watch a movie with daddy. It's working. He's now pooping on the potty. He even went poop at a friend's house yesterday. I was so proud. Before this he was either going in his pull-up at nap time or in his pants while he hid somewhere. But he's doing so good now. And he has been trying his dinner every night. He doesn't always eat it, but he will try it now. And there have been several meals he's eaten that he would not have before. So proud.

In many other areas right now though he is just testing me all the time. Oh well...I guess that is what the age of 3 is all about - testing what you can get away with. He's still a good kid, but he can drive me insane at times.

I was wondering how you were doing with the nap situation. Some days are still hell-ish towards 7 pm but it is worth it to have them in bed by 7:30. Although, i still miss nap time for them dreadfully.
