Just overheard during Justin and Sarah's current game...

S: I am the teacher kids. If there was no teacher there would be no one to get the snacks.

S: My nickname is Dufresne. Hans Solo Dufresne.

J: This teacher needs to go poops while you teach the class. Ummm...I don't hear any teaching going on...

More Sarah info

I got a copy of her records from the allergist today. He did note that he suspected an asthmatic croup.

Boys v/s Girls

I swear - who teaches them this stuff?!?!?

Justin and Sarah are the best of friends. They do everything together. They get upset when they cannot be together. Sarah will play boy games with Justin and Justin will play girl games with Sarah.

So...why??? Why do they both talk so badly about the oposite sex?

Sarah - all year she has had a thing against boys. She quit ballet b/c she hated the boys being in her class. And at preschool she is always asking why there are boys in her class. I asked her today who she likes best in her class other than Lexi. Her answer - "Everyone. Except the boys."

And Justin. Oh, dear Justin. What the heck? In 3 yr old preschool his best friends most of the year were girls. But they were the louder and more tomboyish of the girls. I don't think much about his thoughts on girls versus boys though. Until Monday. I brought him into school. He was waiting to walk down the hallway with Anthony but Anthony was taking a long time trying to figure out where his shoes were. So, anyway, I said " Justin, you can walk down the hall with the girls since Anthony isn't ready." Without missing a beat he comes up to me and says "As if I would ever do that!" LMAO

If they didn't get along so well with each other I probably wouldn't find this so strange, but they obviously can play well with the opposite sex. So funny. So strange.

Justin loves school

He was so excited to go to church yesterday for the catholic schools week mass. And he was so excited to go to the open house. I am so happy that he loves school so much.

Today was a dress down day. They were supposed to wear the school colors - blue and gold. I dressed him is his school shirt from last year and put a gold long sleeve shirt under it. Then he wore blue sweatpants. When he got to school, he matched his teacher. He was so excited when the teacher called him her twin!

More Sarah croup

Just writing it here in case I need to remember the details later.

Sarah woke up Sunday night at midnight with croup again. This time we had the nebulizer ready and were able to give her the albuteral. It helped and she slept the rest of the night. I definitely still heard it somewhat in the morning so I gave her 2 more treatments - one around noon and one around 6 pm. I am praying she sleeps easily through the night!

Thinking back -
I think that when we went to the allergist in Sept that he thought her croup might be caused by asthma. But, since she had gone a whole year w/o an attack, I hadn't paid enough attention and can't remember for sure. I do remember she tested negative for every single allergy they tested her for. Before that, I had assumed it was an allergy croup since the claritan had appeared to help. We has started her on claritan for the croup back around June of 2007. After that, she hadn't had any more attacks.

Until Dec.

I will verify the notes in her file when I go to the allergist for my shots tomorrow. I need to know if I am correct that he suspected asthmatic croup.

I have an appt with an ENT next Tuesday to see if there is anything physically wrong that could be causing this. I need to know where to follow up if she is cleared as normal with that doctor.

Both in Decemeber and now, she had a runny nose at the time of the attacks.

I need to find out what is causing them.
I need to know if there is anything to prevent them.

My kids take on History

While watching the parade, some things I am over hearing.

S:
I want to be Barack Obama
J:
You can't be Orock (what he says) Obama. He's a boy.
S:
Mommy! Is Barack Obama a boy?
J:
Sarah, you can be Michele Obama

J:
Sarah, there is Orock and Michele - there in that smelly old Limo!

J:
Michele might be walking around giving out Candy! I'm not sure if that's what she's doing, but she might be giving out candy. Or maybe she's with her kids.

S:
BARACK OBAMA!

J:
Sarah, are you ready to play parade? You need to be Michele.

J:
Hey that (a doll) can be our 7 yr old daughter. But we need someone to be our 10 yr old daughter.

J:
Guys, we aren't going to my office right now.

J:
RIght now Orock Obama is getting his stuff into his office.

I am still in awe

Sarah amazes me. She is learning so much it is crazy.
By 2 she recognized her name.
By 2 1/2 she could spell her name.

Now, at 3 1/2 she
writes her name
knows all her letters - and most of the lower case ones too
can count at least to 25
knows the sounds of every letter
can write a lot of letters
can spell: sarah, justin, mom, daddy, dad, cat, dog
knows her phone number
knows her address most of the time

This is crazy insane compared to the pace Justin learned at. Justin was not interested in these things at all. But, when he started learning them, Sarah learned right along with him.

And she doesn't even need to know most of this in school yet. Some of this is stuff Justin didn't learn until kindergarten. And in school they taught her to use scissors with one hand. Amazing!

Sad yet cool!

LMAO

Music. Mick and I love music. So we have music on a lot. And, of course, some of our taste rubs off on the kids.

Justin and Sarah LOVE Bon Jovi and get so excited when they hear "Who says you can't go home?" and start screaming and singing along.

Of that, we are proud.

Of these, I am not so sure about the proud factor-

They will always sing along with the New Kids on "The Right Stuff" and today I kept hearing them singing "Ice, Ice, Baby." LMAO

Yeah, not so proud. But I can't help it. Some songs stick with me forever.

Sorry Mommy

So, on my way out to the PTO meeting tonight, my darling daughter says these beautiful words to me:

Sorry Mommy, but I won't miss you tonight!

Ummm....geee...thanks sweetie!
